From citizen report to coordinated action
SAP said its solutions can connect the steps that follow a digital report of damage in a public space. Using a playground scenario with a broken swing, the company showed how a single smartphone report could move through responsibility checks, work planning, resource and budget reviews, material procurement and case closure across citizen engagement, maintenance, procurement and financial management.
For public funding applications, SAP said AI can check documents for completeness and consistency, flag missing information early and give employees an explained recommendation for review. The responsible authority retains the final decision.
Sovereignty and inspections
SAP Sovereign Cloud addresses data, operational, technical and legal sovereignty. At S.Public, a new Sovereign Cloud Showroom takes visitors through administration, control and restricted security zones to show how the operating environment and protection of classified information work together.
In a seaport scenario, SAP solutions and the AI assistant Joule combine selected internal and external data on vessel arrivals, terminals, containers and inspection capacity into a prioritized overview. Analysts can query it in natural language, while public officials decide which inspections to carry out.
Testing beyond demonstrations
S.Public is intended as a place where customers, partners and experts can explore and discuss connected public services. SAP said the capabilities shown in Berlin extend beyond the center. Andre Bechtold, president of SAP Industries & Experiences and chief revenue officer of Industry AI at SAP, is named in the announcement.
Does S.Public automate decisions on public funding applications?
No. SAP said AI can check materials, flag missing information and provide an explained recommendation, but the final decision remains with the responsible public authority.
